Acceptable Use

1. What this covers

This page sets out the rules for using vedfoundry.com and for what you send us through our two application forms. It sits alongside our terms of use, which cover the relationship between you and us more broadly. This page is the detail on one part of that relationship: acceptable behaviour on the site itself, and in what you submit.

2. Using this site

What is fine

Read it. Quote it with attribution. Link to it. Share it with people who might find it useful. View the page source in your browser. We built this site to be read, and we are glad when people do.

The limits

Do not attempt to break, overload, probe, or gain unauthorised access to this site or the services behind it, including our hosting provider and our forms provider. Do not interfere with other visitors' use of the site. And do not strip or obscure our brand, including the "V+F" logo mark, and present our content as your own.

3. Automated access

Well behaved crawlers and archivers are welcome here: the kind that identify themselves and request pages at a reasonable, human like pace. What is not welcome is running automated requests at a rate that degrades the site for anyone else, or using automation to submit an application.

Both application forms carry a hidden field named botcheck, used to catch automated submissions. A person filling in the form never sees or fills that field; software that fills in every field on a page typically does. Submissions that trip it are rejected rather than read.

4. What you must not send through the forms

When you submit either application form, do not send us:

• Unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or hateful content.
• Malware, scripts, or other malicious payloads.
• Content designed to inject instructions into or otherwise manipulate a system that processes your submission, including prompt injection attempts aimed at any AI system that reads it.
• Someone else's confidential information or personal data that you have no right to share with us.
• Third party intellectual property that you have no right to send us.
• Spam, advertising, or bulk solicitation unrelated to an application.

5. One application per idea, submitted honestly

Submit one application per idea, and submit it honestly. Do not impersonate anyone else or apply under a false identity. Do not resubmit the same application repeatedly to try to get attention: one honest submission is enough, and we read every one we receive.

6. Security research

We respect people who look into security responsibly. If you find a vulnerability in this site or in how our forms handle what you send us, write to us at legal@vedfoundry.com with enough detail for us to reproduce it. Give us a reasonable chance to fix the issue before you disclose it publicly, and do not access, modify, or take data that is not yours while you test. We do not currently run a paid bug bounty. We will not pursue a researcher who follows these rules in good faith.

7. What we do if these rules are broken

If you break these rules, we may block your access to the site, discard or delete a submission, decline an application, and, where the activity is unlawful, report it to the relevant authorities. We do not have to warn you first.

If you notice someone else misusing this site or its forms, we want to know. Write to us at legal@vedfoundry.com.
