Privacy Policy

Viveka Netra Pvt Ltd, trading as Vedfoundry, is the data fiduciary responsible for the personal data described in this policy, as that term is used in India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the "DPDP Act"). This policy covers vedfoundry.com in full: every page on the site, including the home page, The Forge residency page, and the reference library of agent-job and industry pages. 1. Who we are and what this covers

Vedfoundry builds bespoke, "Ready-to-Acquire" companies operated by AI agents, and runs The Forge, a founder residency where a sole founder builds a company with Vedfoundry and runs it on agents. The site is informational: it sells nothing, takes no payments, and has no user accounts, logins or dashboards. This policy describes what happens to the personal data of anyone who visits vedfoundry.com or submits one of its application forms.

2. What we collect

We collect what you type into one of our two application forms, the ordinary technical record our hosting provider keeps of every request to the site, and a count of which pages get read. Nothing else.

Home application form

Submitted at /#apply: name, email, domain, idea, why, and an optional link.

Forge application form

Submitted at /forge/#apply: name, email, an optional idea, openness, special, selling, and an optional link.

Server logs

Our hosting provider automatically records standard web server log data for every request: IP address, user agent, and request time. This happens for any visitor, whether or not they submit a form.

Page views

We count page views, and record the page address, the referring site, and the coarse technical details your browser sends to every site it visits. Section 4 sets out exactly what this involves and what it deliberately does not.

That is the complete list: the form fields above, this log data, and the page-view counts described in section 4. We do not ask for, and do not collect, anything else. The site has no user accounts, and because the page counting runs without cookies or browser storage, it cannot link one page view to another or recognise you on a later visit.

3. What we do not collect

To be equally explicit about the negative: vedfoundry.com does not use

• Cookies of any kind. See our cookie policy for the full detail.
• Browser storage such as localStorage or sessionStorage.
• Any request for sensitive personal data, such as health, biometric, financial, or government identity information.

We do not knowingly seek or collect data from anyone under 18. The site is not directed at children, and the application forms are intended for adults building or applying to build a company.

4. Analytics

We use PostHog to count page views and see which pages people read. It runs in cookieless mode: it sets no cookie, writes nothing to your browser storage, and cannot recognise you on a later visit. It records the page address, the referring site, and coarse technical details your browser sends to every site you visit, such as browser and operating system.

We do not record sessions, and we do not use it to build a profile of you. PostHog processes this on our behalf as a data processor. If you would rather not be counted, any tracker blocker will stop it, and the site works exactly the same without it.

5. Why we process it

We rely on two lawful bases under the DPDP Act, kept as simple as the site itself.

6. Who it goes to

We share application, log and page-view data with three processors, each acting on our instructions:

• Web3Forms, which receives the content of whichever application form you submit and delivers it to us by email.
• Netlify, which hosts the static site and, in the ordinary course of serving it, processes request logs including IP addresses.
• PostHog, which receives the page-view events described in section 4 and counts them for us.

Beyond those three, the only other place your application goes is our own email inbox, where the people who review applications read submissions.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else outside these three processors and our own inbox.

7. Cross-border transfer

Web3Forms, Netlify and PostHog all operate outside India, so application data, request logs and page-view events are processed abroad rather than staying within the country. Our PostHog events are sent to that provider's European Union endpoint. We rely on our contractual terms with each provider to govern how they may use and protect that data. We do not hold, and do not claim, any specific data protection certification from any of the three; this is a description of the arrangement as it exists, not a certification.

8. How long we keep it

We keep application data for as long as the relevant cohort selection is open, and for a reasonable further period afterward so we can revisit a candidate if a place opens up or a later cohort is a better fit. If you ask us to delete or anonymise your application, we will do so, subject to any short period we may need to complete that request.

Server logs are retained only for the short window our hosting provider keeps them as part of normal operation, after which they age out on their own.

9. Your rights under the DPDP Act

As a data principal under the DPDP Act, you may ask us to:

• Confirm what personal data of yours we hold, and give you access to it.
• Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erase data that we no longer need for the purpose it was collected.
• Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.

You may also raise a grievance about how we have handled your data. To exercise any of these rights, or to raise a grievance, write to us at legal@vedfoundry.com. We may ask you for enough information to confirm you are who you say you are before acting on a request, and we aim to respond within a reasonable period.

10. Visitors outside India

Because vedfoundry.com is reachable worldwide, here is a short note for visitors covered by other privacy laws.

EU and UK (GDPR)

If you are in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your data, restrict or object to its processing, request portability of data you provided, and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. California (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to delete it, and to correct it. You also have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, which is straightforward for us: we do not sell or share personal data with anyone. 11. Security

We keep this honest rather than decorative. Vedfoundry does not run its own database, so application data does not sit in infrastructure we operate ourselves; it passes from your browser to Web3Forms over HTTPS and arrives in our email inbox. Access to that inbox is limited to the people who review applications. We do not hold any security certification, and we do not claim one.

12. AI and your application

Applications are read by people at Vedfoundry to select each cohort. There is no automated decision-making that produces a legal or similarly significant effect on you. Vedfoundry builds companies that are operated by AI agents once running, but we do not use the content of your application to train any model. If that were ever to change, we would ask for your consent first.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site or how we handle data changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised in substance. If you have already applied, we encourage you to check back occasionally rather than expecting an individual notice.
