1. What this policy covers
This policy covers the Thyme Android application. The Vedfoundry website has a separate website privacy policy.
2. The short version
Thyme version 0.2.0 keeps its app data on your device. It does not require an account, send your habit activity to Vedfoundry, show advertising, or include analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. It does not sell or share app data.
Thyme is paid for with a single one-time payment, processed by Google Play. Vedfoundry runs no server, holds no database, and receives no payment details.
3. Data stored on your device
To provide the app, Thyme stores the following locally:
- Your habit name and the normal, small, tiny, and setup actions you choose.
- Your manual or time-window cue and selected weekdays.
- Your notification choices and interactions, including smaller, later, dismiss, and start.
- Your start history, timer state, repair state, results, and display preferences.
This information is stored in an encrypted SQLCipher database. The database password is protected using Android Keystore. Vedfoundry does not receive this database or its encryption key.
4. Data collection and sharing
Thyme version 0.2.0 does not collect or share personal data, app activity, device identifiers, diagnostics, location, contacts, calendar data, photos, audio, or advertising information. The app does not contain a login or connect to a Thyme backend.
5. Payment
Thyme is unlocked by a one-time payment. Google Play processes that payment and holds the record of it. Vedfoundry never receives your card number, card expiry, bank details, or billing address, and no purchase record is stored on a Vedfoundry system, because there is none. The app confirms your purchase with Google Play on the device.
Google processes the transaction under its own terms and privacy policy. What Google collects when you buy an app is outside our control and is described in Google's own documentation.
6. Permissions
- Notifications. Used to deliver the cue you configure.
- Run after boot. Used to restore your locally scheduled cue after a restart.
- Vibration. Used when you choose haptic feedback.
Notification permission can be declined or revoked in Android settings. Thyme does not request location, contacts, calendar, camera, microphone, physical-activity, or exact-alarm access.
7. Exporting data
If you choose Export my data, Thyme creates a JSON file in its private cache and opens Android's share sheet. Nothing is sent until you choose a destination. A destination you select receives the exported file under its own privacy terms.
8. Retention and deletion
Local data remains until you clear Thyme's storage in Android settings or uninstall the app. Archiving a habit stops its cues but does not erase its history. Export anything you want to keep before clearing storage or uninstalling.
9. Links and support
Opening the privacy or support link uses your browser or email app. Those services may process standard connection or message information under their own terms. Thyme does not attach your habit history to those requests.
10. Health and wellbeing
Thyme is a general habit-support tool. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or manage a condition, and does not provide medical advice or crisis support.
11. Children
Thyme is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal data from children or adults.
12. Changes
We will update this policy before a release adds an account, cloud backup, analytics, or any other change to data handling. The date above identifies the latest revision.
